Since 1990, Personal Touch Tree Service has been the go-to choice for tree care in Dallas and surrounding communities. Founded by Jim Breaux, a Certified Arborist with decades of experience (and longtime Texas ISA board member), the company grew from one man’s dedication to urban forestry into a trusted, family-run team. Today, Jim works alongside his son, Austen Breaux, also a Certified Arborist, continuing a legacy of tree preservation, safety, and sustainability. 

From storm response to fertilization, pruning to construction mitigation, the mission has always been the same: protect trees first, remove only when absolutely necessary, and give every property owner peace of mind. By recycling every branch into mulch or firewood, the team not only cares for Dallas trees—they also give back to the community. 

At Personal Touch Tree Service, we have been practicing the art and science of caring for and preserving our urban forest for over 24 years. Jim Breaux bought Personal Touch Tree Service in 1990 and has grown it into what it is today. Jim has long been involved with the International Society of Arboriculture and has served on the board of the Texas Chapter. Jim and his son, Austen, annually help judge the Texas Tree Climbing Championship, which occurs in late spring or early summer.

Growing up around the tree care business, Austen learned early from his father, Jim Breaux, the founder of Personal Touch Tree Service. Today, as a Certified Arborist®, he carries on the family’s legacy of expert, ethical tree care across Dallas and surrounding communities. Austen combines traditional values with modern arboricultural practices and continues to advance industry excellence — including helping judge the annual Texas Tree Climbing Championship alongside his father.

Founder Jim Breaux’s youngest son Kyle was raised in the family business. As a child he rode with his dad while making estimates. Watching closely and learning as Jim assessed trees and created personalized tree health care strategies for each client. Kyle has done it all for the company over the years. He’s worked alongside crews, helped with fire wood, ground stumps and run the tree health care division of the business. Now as a Certified Arborist, he helps homeowners assess the health, safety and aesthetics of the trees on their property. He takes great pride in working with his family and carrying on his father’s legacy. When Kyle is not at work, he and his wife are active members at their Church and enjoy spending time with their backyard chickens.
