The Secret is in the Soil

Help your trees survive (even thrive) the heat of the summer…the secret is in the soil! While you can’t change the entirety of the soil your trees are planted in, you can amend the soil to provide invaluable minerals, vitamins and air. Since we don’t recommend watering established trees, you might notice cracks in the soil. You can add compost to these cracks to feed your tree, or you can aerate your soil and amend it that way as well. We also recommend a thin layer of organic material underneath the canopy (the area under your tree that would be protected from the sun and rain, similar to an umbrella) to the dripline (the area where the protection from the canopy runs out).
