If you have Live Oaks in your yard, you might notice that they are shedding some of their leaves right now. We typically receive an influx of calls with people who are concerned about the health of their Live Oaks, but don’t worry, this is a natural occurrence.
The Live Oak, sometimes referred to as the evergreen oak, is actually not technically evergreen at all. Warmer March temperatures trigger the Live Oaks to drop leaves, which many people mistake for disease or decline, especially since we normally associate leaves falling with Autumn. However, in a few short weeks, you will see new foliage where the leaves have thinned.
